#103 | Let Go and Let God | Dave’s Warstory

Let go and let God. You heard this one? Yeah? So what does it mean? And how is it done? And why? What’s the benefit?

 

When most of us our beat into enough submission to finally be open to a sober lifestyle, we quickly find out that life run on our will just doesn’t work. In a 12 step program, we learn to depend on our own concept of a higher power and turn our will over. Let go and let God is a reminder that there is a god, and we’re not it. He/it will allow life to unfold according to a plan outside of our control. Today, we’re most grateful for that. 

 

This topic comes from this week’s warstory from Dave. Dave grew up in NY and watched alcoholism first hand with his parents. Though he swore he’d never go that route, when he did, its fair to say the lifestyle got away from him. After enough consequences he found himself in the rooms of AA. It was there that he learned the concept of letting go and letting God. His life today is full of service and giving back in a way that he was never able before.
