#102 | Compromising Our Morals | Cameron‘s Warstory
Friday Dec 17, 2021
Friday Dec 17, 2021
Did anybody else completely forget any moral code they ever had when out there using and abusing?? Not just us? Didn’t think so.
This is what brings us together.
In this episode we’re at it again. Cameron is retelling his warstory after 100 episodes. In this we pulled the topic of Compromising our morals. When you listen to Cameron’s story you’ll hear time after time how he crossed that line he had for himself and how as he got further and further lost, the easier it became to disregard any moral fiber that made up his being.
Luckily, today we don’t have to live that way. The moral fiber didn’t disappear; it was just covered up by the clutter of addiction. After we clear away the wreckage, we learn to live life on life's terms.
Check out episode three to hear Cameron’s story when we first started the podcast!

#100 | The Spiritual Malady | Mary‘s Warstory
Friday Dec 03, 2021
Friday Dec 03, 2021
Is our problem spiritual in nature? That seems like a big pill to swallow. Then again, we tried addressing everything else. What do we have to lose? At rock bottom, the answer is nothing.
This week we’re talking about the spiritual malady, a topic inspired by an amazing warstory from Mary. If you ask Mary, she’ll tell you she was destined to become an alcoholic. With parents who had the disease, she grew up in and around AA. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to keep her sober and she wound up finding her own way to the rooms. Today, after a recent relapse, she has found it necessary to address the spiritual malady in a way she never had before. Tune in to hear how she’s learned to deal with life’s challenges instead of allowing them to fester.
**Mary is currently seeking 12 step literature!!!!! If you know anyone who can donate to help Mary bring this literature into the rehab facility where she works, please contact us and we’ll put you in touch with her!
Or you can DM Mary on IG at @maryk84!!
Thanks Hellians!

#099 | The First 30 Days | Dani‘s Warstory
Friday Nov 26, 2021
Friday Nov 26, 2021
Early sobriety can be scary. When we are newly sober it's fair to say that nearly everything is different. Even though we may be able to recognize the destruction caused by addiction and be happy to be separated from it, the first 30 days can still be a period of mourning and confusion. So let’s talk about it.
This week, we have a warstory from Dani who shares with us what life was like, what happened, and why she decided to get sober. You’ll hear that a lot happened in her first 30 days of sobriety. Her story inspired this week’s topic and is well worth discussing. If you’re new or nearly new, this episode is for you.
Thank you Dani for sharing your story!

Oftentimes when we get sober, it feels so good that we can get in the mindset of trying to save everyone! While our intentions are good, it’s not often the best approach to just start berating everyone we see with a drink in their hands. But there is a way to spread the message that truly can help those in need. In fact, it's vitally important that we do this.
This week we’re joined by L.T. Weaver, founder of Recovering Addict to talk about spreading the message. LT is no stranger to this concept. As you will hear in his warstory, he’s no stranger to the dark abyss of addiction either. L.T. always had a work hard, play harder mentality that had a negative impact on those around him. Luckily, today he has applied that work ethic to helping others and has a non-profit organization that’s doing just that.
Check out Recoveringaddict.org for more information on this program of recovery that has a bit of a different spin on it from your traditional twelve step recovery.

#097 | God Doing For Us | Jennifer‘s Story
Friday Nov 12, 2021
Friday Nov 12, 2021
If alcohol did anything to us, it was to prove to us over and over that we were powerless. But once we turned our will and our lives over to a power greater than ourselves, it became clear that God had been doing things for us what we could not do for ourselves, with a big one being getting sober!
This week’s topic of God Doing For Us What We Could Not Do Ourselves was inspired by a powerful story from Jennifer. To hear what Jennifer went through while in the throes of the disease is astonishing. Murder, trauma, and abuse all play heavily into the lifestyle she was living. Fortunately she was led to a program of recovery that loved her without judgement as she slowly became willing to turn her will and her life over to a power greater than herself.
Thank you Jen for being an amazing example of how a twelve step program can work and how the worst things that happen to you, can also be the best.
You inspire us.

#096 | Recovery Maintenance with Marty and Jackson | Adam‘s Warstory
Friday Nov 05, 2021
Friday Nov 05, 2021
Well, we’re sober. Now what?
It’s been said that getting sober isn’t the hard part. It’s staying sober that seems to elude us. So what can we do to maintain our recovery? The answer? The same thing we did to get sober and sometimes more.
We are on fire with wisdom coming from Marty and Jackson who joined Cameron and Willy as special guest hosts in the week’s episode. These are a couple of dudes who know a bit about staying stopped and maintaining our recovery. This topic came to us from our warstory from Adam!
Adam always thought he was the exception to the rule even before he started using and drinking. He felt magic with his first experience having all his fears and worries melt away.
Eventually the drink would overtake him and he came face to face with the alcoholic. Today he works a 12 step program and shows up each day to maintain his recovery. Tune in to hear his amazing experience, strength and hope.

Friday Oct 29, 2021
Though it wasn’t always apparent in the moment, along most of our journeys we can see people who wouldn’t give up on us. Ones who somehow knew we were worth saving. The ones who, in retrospect, must have been Angels in people’s clothing.
This week is on fire with this topic coming from our man Jackson from Stay Stopped. Jackson came all the way from L.A. to be on the show and we’re happy to share his warstory with you.
Even from a young age, Jackson never really felt like he fit in. When he discovered drugs and alcohol, his paths diverged and he started leading two lives. One was that of a doting business professional, the other of an addict-alcoholic working towards his next fix. It was easy for Jackson to justify his using when the consequences didn’t come fast enough. But as you’ll hear, that wouldn’t last long.
Having finally surrendered to the solution, Jackson has over 6 years of sobriety and hasn’t spent a bit of it in idle. Check out Stay Stopped apparel, a clothing brand he founded that delivers a positive message with the goal of unifying the once broken.
There’s a lot of hope and recovery in this one!

It was an honor to have you and to share your story!

#094 |Taking Responsibility | Mariah‘s Warstory
Friday Oct 22, 2021
Friday Oct 22, 2021
What happened to us is not our fault. Being alcoholic is not our fault. Becoming addicted is not our fault. BUT-it is our responsibility to do what is necessary to not let those things take us over.
We ask for the strength to change the things we can. And today, we’re talking about taking responsibility for those things.
This week’s topic is inspired by the warstory from Mariah! Mariah grew up in a small town in a family full of alcoholism. She was always uncomfortable in her skin until she found her happiness in beers and boys. Hear how she works today to love herself without outside validation. She takes responsibility for her actions and her recovery and does what she needs to to stay stopped.
Thank you Mariah for sharing your story!!
You can follow Mariah on IG @mariahjeau. If you or anybody you know is struggling, check out PRISM coaching program in the link in her bio.

#093 | Does Social Acceptability Equal Personal Recovery | Dylan‘s Warstory
Friday Oct 15, 2021
Friday Oct 15, 2021
Does social accountability equal personal recovery?
As long as our outsides look good then who cares about our insides, right? This was often the thought we had when we were using. As long as certain boxes are checked, its okay that we’re spiritually bankrupt. Boy were we wrong.
Join us this week where we talk about this thinking error and what it took to realize the truth. This conversation was inspired by the warstory this week from Dylan from the Not So Anonymous Podcast. Dylan figured having the house, the wife, the cars, and the job meant he was free to do whatever he wanted. It wasn’t long before he saw his life crumbling around him and could no longer keep up the facade. Tune in to hear how he turned it around and what his life in recovery looks like today.
Thanks Dylan for sharing your story!
